[The fun thing about having friends who also fly is: no one's really late. You just whoosh in, hair a little messy, and no parking fees.

So that's where Cassie is-- swooped in, eyes trained for her new friend's arrival.]

[She's keeping to a bench under a tree, because she's doing the best not to draw attention to herself. She's wearing jeans and a tee-shirt - both of which are a bit too short, but then again, she's pretty fresh to the larger world.]

[But she can appreciate a good swoop.]

[hearing the voice, she turns, smiling upon spotting her new friend]

Thanks, I practiced a lot as a kid. Now it's more crash landings....anyway, you excited for this?

[Because she's attempting to project confidence:]

Hell yes I am! It's gonna be great.

[And she's not even slightly out of her element at all, oh no.]

[if she does notice the nervousness, Cassie doesn't say it, just keeps smiling and nods her head towards the store up ahead, a cute, nondescript little thing]

It is. We'll check a few things, and if the vibe is good, we try 'em on.

[She crosses her arms over her stomach, starting to move alongside Cassie.]

How do we know if the 'vibe' is good? Vibes were not part of my training, heh.

Hmmm...how to measure vibes. That should be something they teach, huh? [she's teasing, because frankly, Cassie doesn't even know] If it's comfortable. If you want to stay.

Right. Well, I think I can manage vibes, then.

[She nods, moving more swiftly towards the door.]

Also, it's on me today - guess who has one last government credit card CADMUS never cancelled. So, uh...

[She smiles, a bit, pushing back some hair, reddening just a little. Sincerity isn't easy for her, yet.]

Go ham with what you want, it'll screw over the bad guys a little bit. As a thank you.

Wait, you-- you don't have to, you know. Though giving CADMUS a fuck off would be nice...

[her smile brightens, and she pats her companion on the back, tugging the door open as she does]

I'm not using our money.

[She grins.]

I find some nice undies and they cost a fortune, it ain't gonna me us paying for it.

And...and I want you to find nice things, too. That you really like. So we both benefit!

[a beaming grin] We both benefit, and we both deserve. You're right, you've convinced me, really pulled my leg.

[She grins, nodding. They have an understanding.]

[She steps inside, looking around in some disbelief.]

Wow, that's...that's a lot of stuff. And people. Is it always like this?

[chickwonder]

[she glances around to see if there's some kind of crazy sale, but there aren't any signs indicating as much]

It is pretty busy. Maybe because it's the summer? How are you feeling? We could go, if this is a lot.

[fearfully_symmetrical]

[It's a lot more people than she's used to. She was always more...covert. But she nods, after taking a breath.]

Yeah, I got this. It's just all...new. Like, I can read all the signs but not all of 'em make sense, y'know?

[She points at the first shop they see.]

Like that's a lot of pink and white. It's like someone decorated their store with the easter bunny.

And I don't even have any chocolate. [she chuckles a little, and pats her companion's shoulder gently, again] We'll take it slow. And I'm sure we can find some blue in here, non-pastel. Black, plenty of black!

[She nods.]

Alright. Lead the way. Let's get this goin.'

[she does, winding them around the crowd, weaving them through to one of the racks in the back, and not right for the clearance as much as Cassie desperately wants to. she doesn't need to fight the first urge of that this time.

she picks up a tshirt, novelty, with some kind of robot design on the front]

Hmmmm...

[What's so overwhelming about it is the choice.. There's so much variety - and she can sense that some of this is what you would call fashion - the things that are 'in', so it'll change with time, but...it's a lot. Where does it all come from? Who decides what to sell?]

[And, picking up a shirt that is way too small for her, she raises an eyebrow at yet another question: how do you figure out size?]

[she sees her companion pick up the shirt, definitely too small, and saddles up to her, grabbing one that looks like it might fit a little better. she holds it up at eye level, then holds it in front of her new friend]

I think you're going to have to try it on. A nightmare, I know.

[fearfully_symmetrical]

[She sticks out her tongue, but rolls her eyes and nods.]

Yeah yeah, going to do that.

[She's distracted enough looking at it that she doesn't pay as much attention to the how - she floats herself towards the back, a few inches off the ground.]

[it takes her a second to notice it, too, and her eyes widen-- but it's too late to stop her-- Cassie just hopes no one else spots that. for now, Cassie grabs a bunch of clothes and goes after her]

[First time in a changing room, and she doesn't like it terribly much. She isn't a huge fan of enclosed spaces. But she can figure out the essentials, and comes out wearing the shirt, a v-neck in light blue, adjusting the edges self-consciously.]

[But at least her feet are on the ground this time.]

[she greets her with a smile, her gaze flicking down the outfit approvingly before she meets her companion's eyes]

I think it looks great. Nice and comfy. How do you feel?

[fearfully_symmetrical]

[She frowns as she tries to think of the right words.]

It feels kinda soft? I suppose it looks good...

Maybe I'll get, like, another one but in another colour? [A pause] Do the colours mean anything, or do they go with certain things, or...?

[chickwonder]

[she grins encouragingly, offering her a thumbs up]

See, you're getting the hang of it! Get a couple different colors, mix it with different jeans, or cargo pants, I like those. The colors don't have to mean anything, no. You could match with other pants, or something.

[She'll take a few minutes to be shown those things, and in the end chooses form-fitting jeans. She's proud of her shape, and she's made sure to earn it - and she's definitely not one to hide it. But a few pairs of jeans and shirts later, she's got some filled bags.]

Right, what's next? Since we've conquered casual.

How about dressy? Not formal wear or anything, just maybe a skirt-- it can be long-- [she's quick to throw in there, just in case she's worried about a tiny skirt] We could match it with tights? I do that a lot.

[fearfully_symmetrical]

[She grins at that interjection.]

We can do both. We've both got legs for miles, after all. I dunno about you, but I worked damn hard to get mine just right.

[But she nods.]

Please, though, introduce me to the world of tights.

[Cassie giggles good naturedly, beckoning her over to a rack with miles and miles of tights in all colors and patterns]

You might not wanna try 'em in the summer, unless they're really thin. But There are sooo many. As for the skirts.... [she indicates another rack nearby]

Oh, wow, that's a lot of choices.

[She looks over a few skirts, picking out a red one with pleats.]

Kinda like the stripey things in the fabric.

They look great, right? [she beams] I have a pair with stars, and I wear 'em with a skirt for my costume.

[She grins, and nods.]

Well that makes sense. Sure I wouldn't be copyin' you?

[Emphasized with a smile and a nudge with her shoulder.]

Oh! No! [she chuckles a little, sheepish] You could do stripes?

Maybe. Or just a lighter shade.

[She's being thoughtful at least, then her eyes fall on some more formal wear: a mannequin wearing glasses, a blouse, and a black pencil skirt.]

Ooooh, secret identity chic? How do you manage that, bee-tee-dubz? Are you, like, always on, or...?

[she sees the glasses and is immediately taken back to a certain wig and a pair of goggles]

Well, back in the day I had a wig. Now-- I am kind of always on. My ID got blown a long time ago.

[She smiles.]

Trying to picture it, not quite managing it.

[She looks at a few of the items she's picked up.]

I'm thinking of going that route, though. Which means I'll need a name. Which is hard.

It was the original bob. [she situates her hands to her chin, smirking] Bangs too.

Oh, a name? Hmmm...that one is kind of hard unless you're taking up a mantle that already existed.

Yeah, 'cept I'm brand new and the only name I've got is this one. And I dunno, being normal sometimes, like what you're doing...it looks...fun.

[She smiles, a bit sheepishly. Sincerity, right?]

[she grins, gentle] It can be a little hard, I won't lie to you-- but I'm glad to be able to keep the two sort of separate. Tell me, what do your powers do? You could go with a theme for that.

Full range of Kryptonian powers.

[Said with a shrug.]

Basically, as far as I know I can do whatever Supergirl can do.

And as much as that's an honor of a symbol...you want your own.

Kinda? Something, anyway, that makes me more than just a ripoff of Supergirl.

[She looks around, spotting what she's most looking for.]

Aha! The fancy stuff! Also the good bras!

[CADMUS not exactly springing on a clothing budget. Just...uniforms.]

You totally aren't! She's one of my closest friends, trust me, you are you, and other people will see that too.

[laughing again at that enthusiasm, she follows]

If not a theme based on your superpowers, you could do one based off uhm...something you like?
